1. What we collect and why
Orders. Name, email, billing address, country, IP address and the items you bought. Purpose: to deliver the files, issue receipts, comply with tax law (two pieces of evidence of your location for EU VAT: billing country and IP). Legal basis: contract and legal obligation. Retention: 10 years for accounting records.
Download links. Each download of your files records date, IP address and browser, through the Shopify Digital Products app. Purpose: to protect the files from abuse. Legal basis: legitimate interest. Retention: 2 years.
Quiz score and tags. When you take the AI Exposure Score and leave your email, we save your email, your score band (low, moderate, high, critical), your language and your path (A, B or C) as tags on your customer record (quiz-score-*, quiz-lang-*, quiz-path-*). Your individual answers stay in your browser (session storage) and are not sent to us. Purpose: to send you the result, the PDF of the first 7 days and the 7-day course you asked for. Legal basis: consent. Retention: until you unsubscribe or ask for deletion.
Marketing emails. Two separate choices in the quiz form. The first box, needed to receive them, covers only the PDF of the first 7 days and the 7-day course. The second box is optional and unticked: only with it do we send news about Career Firewall, at most two emails a month. The box at checkout covers the same news, one reminder if you leave the checkout and one request for a review after the purchase. The 12 weekly reminders of the 90-day plan have their own sign-up page, linked in the order confirmation: that consent covers only those reminders. We use double opt-in for the quiz and the reminders: nothing is sent until you confirm your email. Every email has a one-click unsubscribe link. Legal basis: consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
Which email, with which consent. The 7-day course and the PDF of the first 7 days, plus one reminder the day before the launch price ends: the first box of the quiz. News, at most twice a month: the second box of the quiz or the box at checkout. A reminder if you leave the checkout and one request for a review after the purchase: the box at checkout. The 12 weekly reminders of the plan: the box on the reminders page. Order, files, founding member updates and withdrawal receipts are service emails linked to your order and need no marketing consent.
Reviews. If you leave a review, your first name, the text and the verified-buyer status are published through Judge.me. Legal basis: consent.
Analytics and advertising cookies. In the EU, the EEA, the United Kingdom, Switzerland and Canada, only after your consent in the cookie banner. In the United States and the other countries where the store sells, from your first visit, and you can opt out at any time from "Your privacy choices" in the footer or with the Global Privacy Control signal. Where they are active, a pixel on the quiz page tells Meta and Google that the quiz was started or completed, or that an email was left, with the language of the page: never your score, band, path or answers. Purpose: to measure and improve our ads. For collecting and passing on these events we are joint controllers with Meta Platforms Ireland (art. 26 GDPR, under Meta's controller addendum); Meta is responsible for what it does with them afterwards. See the cookie policy.
2. Who receives your data
Shopify (hosting, checkout, email delivery), Shopify Payments and PayPal (payments), Judge.me (reviews), Google (analytics and ad measurement, after consent where it is required), Meta (ad measurement and optimisation, after consent where it is required). Some of these providers process data outside the EU: in the United States, under the EU-US and Swiss-US Data Privacy Framework or standard contractual clauses, and in Canada (Shopify), which has an adequacy decision of the European Commission.
3. Your rights
You can ask for access, correction, deletion, portability, restriction, and you can object to processing based on legitimate interest. Write to support@careerfirewall.com. We answer within 30 days. You can complain to your data protection authority (in Italy: Garante per la protezione dei dati personali).
4. The quiz, in plain words
What we save: your email, your score band, your language and your path. For how long: until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them. How to delete them: click unsubscribe in any email, or write to support@careerfirewall.com with the subject "delete my quiz data". Nothing from the quiz is shared with employers. Through cookies, Meta and Google learn only that the quiz was started or completed or an email was left, never your score or answers.
5. Children
The store and the quiz are for adults in employment. We do not knowingly collect data from people under 16.
